Could this be the place to find happy ever after?
When Bree, Mikki and Ashley open The Boardwalk Bookshop on the Californian coast it is a dream come true. But while their business is thriving, their personal lives are not.
Bree has sworn to protect her heart at all costs, until an unexpected meeting with a bestselling author changes everything. Mikki has never moved on from her divorce, but knows something must change. And Ashley’s wedding fantasy is shattered when she discovers her boyfriend never wants to get married.
Every Friday the three friends meet on the beach in front of the bookshop to toast the sunset. Here, as their bond grows closer, they will challenge each other to not only face their fears but fight for what they have always wanted in life, and love.

My Review
When a book starts with the sentence “I thought there’d be more sex.” I know I’m going to be in for a fun read. Throw in a coastal setting, a bookshop, fierce female friendship and some romantic love interests and I’m happier than a pig in muck.
Bree, Mikki and Ashley each share space creating the perfect business, books, gifts and baked goodies. Every Friday they have a champagne toast on the beach to their success and friendship. Three very different women and their stories all coming together as their bond strengthens.
This book made me want to be part of the gang, their refreshing honesty and open discussions on life, love and sex gave the characters a realness that is often missing in lighter reads. I mean who knew you could have sex past twenty!
With some scenes that will make you blush as it gets as hot and steamy as the male love interests. It’s certainly more risqué than the author normally goes that’s for sure, if she’s trying something new this reader likes it.
This made my heart swell, my belly chuckle and is a quintessential beach read.

Excellent review, Melanie. I agree, this was a bit more steamy than her usual books, but I enjoyed it.
